The basics
Is this a sportsbook?
No. Belmundo takes no wagers, pays no cash prizes, and never asks for a credit card to make a call. That's deliberate — it keeps us out of gambling regulation in most markets and means anyone can play.
How long does a day take?
About thirty seconds. Five matches, five swipes. You can deepen it (call the exact score, set up friend leagues, watch your live slip during matches) — but the floor is thirty seconds in the morning.
Do I need to download an app?
No. Belmundo is a Progressive Web App — you visit belmundo.app, tap "Add to Home Screen" once, and it lives on your phone like a real app. No App Store. No download. No update flow.
Do I have to sign up?
Not on day one. You can play as a guest and your picks save on the device. The "save your streak" prompt at the end of onboarding offers Google, Apple, or a magic-link email — pick one whenever you want to keep your streak across devices.
The swipes
Left or right — which is which?
Swipe left for the home team to win. Swipe right for the away team. Swipe up (or tap the "Draw" button) for a draw. The card hints at this every time.
What is "swipe strength"?
How hard / how far you swipe is your conviction. A firm flick = full conviction. A tentative drag = uncertain. Conviction multiplies the crowd-bonus part of your score, so when you go against the grain and are sure, you get rewarded more.
Can I change my mind after locking?
No. Once a card commits, it's in. That's part of the discipline — and what makes the leaderboard mean something. (You can skip the optional exact-score prompt.)
What if I miss a day?
You burn a streak-freeze. Free tier holds one freeze at a time and gets a fresh one on the 1st of each month. Pro is unlimited. Off-days (no matches in your mode) never break your streak.
Pro
What's Pro?
A $3.99/month upgrade for players who want to go deeper. Pro unlocks:
- Deep accuracy stats — which teams, competitions, and styles you read best
- Unlimited streak-freezes
- Host bigger friend leagues
- Competition / region leaderboards (e.g. "#14 in WC knockouts in your country")
- A bonus 6th "wildcard" match each day from outside your chosen mode
- Premium share-card themes
Is Pro a paywall on the game?
No. The free game is genuinely complete — the full daily five, exact-score bonus, live slip, push notifications, the share card, global + local leaderboards, friend leagues, streaks. Pro is depth, not access.

Seven days. Cancel anytime in your account.
Refunds?
Within 7 days of any charge, message us — we'll refund. After that we follow standard subscription rules: cancel anytime, keep Pro until the period you've paid for ends.
Account + data
How do I delete my account?
/profile → Account → Delete. Wipes your handle, calls, badges, and streaks. We keep an anonymized aggregate of "a player existed and made N calls" for stats purposes; nothing tied to you.
Can I change my handle?
Yes — /profile → tap the handle → type a new one. Must be 3–24 characters, alphanumeric + underscore, and not already taken.
What about my location?
We ask you to pick a country in onboarding for the Regional mode + the local leaderboard. We don't ask for GPS. You can change or clear your country anytime in /profile.
Does Belmundo sell my data?
No. We never sell user data. We use PostHog for product analytics (which events happen, which screens load slowly) and Sentry for crash reporting — neither sees your name, email, or picks.
The data
Where do match scores come from?
Two providers behind a single interface: football-data.org (primary, free tier covers the World Cup + 13 top competitions) and api-football.com (fallback for 1,100+ leagues). If one feed hiccups we fall over to the other automatically.
What if a score is wrong?
It's the provider's score. We don't second-guess. If your call resolves on a wrong score and the provider corrects it later, our resolution job re-runs and your points adjust.
What happens after the 2026 World Cup?
Regional mode keeps Belmundo daily through the club season. During the tournament we'll nudge you to pick a domestic league (Bundesliga, Premier League, La Liga, etc.) so the moment the Cup ends, you've already got Saturday and Sunday fixtures lined up.
