Terms

The short version. A more comprehensive legal document will land before the public launch (≤ 2026-06-10).

You agree to

Be 13 or older (16 in regions where GDPR sets that as the floor).
Use Belmundo for personal, non-commercial fun.
Not scrape, automate, or otherwise abuse the API or the leaderboard.
Not use a handle that impersonates someone else, contains slurs, or is otherwise unkind.
Not try to break the scoring engine — we will roll back fraudulent points, and persistent cheating gets accounts banned without refund.

What Belmundo offers

A free daily prediction game. No money in, no money out, no wagers, no cash prizes.
An optional Pro subscription ($3.99/month) for extra features. Paid via Stripe. 7-day free trial; cancel anytime from your account.
Friend leagues you can create or join. The host sets the league name; we reserve the right to moderate names that violate community guidelines.

What Belmundo doesn't promise

That match scores are 100% correct. We pull from third-party data providers (football-data.org, api-football.com). When a provider corrects a score, our resolution job re-runs and your points adjust. We don't second-guess the official sources.
Zero downtime. We will be down sometimes. We aim for high availability but the World Cup will stress things.
That your streak or rank persists forever. We can wipe data tied to abusive accounts.

Pro subscription

Monthly: ~$3.99 (exact local price shown at checkout, set by Stripe).
Annual: discounted, also shown at checkout.
Trial: 7 days. We collect a payment method at trial start and charge at trial end if you haven't cancelled.
Refunds: within 7 days of any charge, email [email protected] and we'll refund. After that, you can cancel anytime and keep Pro until the period you've paid for ends.
No automatic re-upgrades after cancellation.

Ownership

Your handle, your data, your picks — yours. Subject to the privacy policy, we never sell it.
The Belmundo brand, code, and design system — ours. The pitch-green visual system, the swipe mechanic UX, the editorial voice — all reserved.
No affiliation with FIFA, UEFA, any league, club, or governing body. The "World Cup" and "FIFA World Cup" word marks are property of FIFA; we never claim or imply affiliation.

Liability

Belmundo is provided "as is". We're not liable for losses arising from missed match-days, wrong scores from upstream providers, leaderboards displaying incorrect ranks during outages, or anything else that doesn't involve someone giving us real money.

For Pro subscribers, our maximum liability is the amount you've paid us in the last 12 months. (At $3.99/month that's $47.88 — not exactly enough to retire on.)

Changes to these terms

We will email Pro subscribers about any material change at least 14 days before it takes effect. For free players we'll post a banner. If you don't agree with a change, you can cancel / delete your account.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Belmundo is run by four co-founders, three of whom are based in or originally from Germany; that's the simplest jurisdiction for us.
